The Information System is a Registry of Due Diligence Statements, which is a specialized online tool that streamlines the creation of due diligence statements within your supply chains.
The Registry allows operators, traders and their representatives to make electronic Due Diligence Statements, and submit them to the relevant authorities to show that their products do not cause deforestation, in compliance with the Deforestation Regulation.
Important notice: Temporary access limitations will apply to the EUDR Information System from 16 February. The exact reopening date will be communicated in mid-April, with the system reopening shortly thereafter.
Please take a note, that this temporary measure is necessary to facilitate the deployment of updates to the EUDR Information System reflecting the amended provisions of the EU Deforestation Regulation and to ensure the timely and efficient implementation of related technical updates.
During this period following restrictions will be in place:
- The LIVE production server will remain accessible in read-only mode, allowing users to consult existing content.
- The ACCEPTANCE server (replica training platform) will be unavailable.
While these measures are in place, no new registrations will be accepted and no new submissions will be temporarily available on either server.

Please take note that submitting Due Diligence Statements in the LIVE server is to cover only such products that are to be placed on the market or exported after the entry into application. Due Diligence Statements submitted in the LIVE server have legal value and their content can be subject to checks by Competent Authorities.

Please also note that registering an account in one environment (e.g. Acceptance server) does not automatically grant access or registration in another environment (e.g. LIVE server). Users should complete separate registrations for each environment as required.

The EUDR Information System
Any operator or trader or their representatives may use the publicly available online version of the Information System. You can use this website to declare that due diligence has been performed before the import, export, domestic production or merchandising of products that are in scope of the EU Deforestation Regulation.
Operators can indicate the exact origins of products and materials by drawing areas on a map, or by providing coordinates individually or in bulk. To make the process as simple as possible for companies working with products from multiple locations, there are options for uploading, copying or re-using location information.
Coordinates can be provided in bulk in a file using the GeoJSON standard format. This file description also includes solutions to the most common technical issues related to the creation of GeoJSON files.
To create the Due Diligence Statement, the operator selects the type of product and indicates characteristics such as HS code, product description, and quantity.
Operators further down the supply chain and traders within the EU) can refer back to Statements created previously by adding the reference numbers and verification numbers either manually or as a CSV file.
Operators can view and manage their Due Diligence Statements in a dashboard. The status of the statement will be updated as it is processed by the system.
Manage statements in bulk through an API
If you are a large operator dealing with many products and suppliers, you will be able manage your Due Diligence Statements in bulk using a machine-to-machine connection to the Information System via an Application Programming Interface (API).
The technical specifications for the API are being updated to reflect the amended provisions of the EU Deforestation Regulation. The current versions are available here.
Operators interested in connecting their own systems to the Information System through the API can get in touch to start the process or get technical support.
A successful conformance test towards a test environment (called ACCEPTANCE server) is required before access is granted to the production environment (called LIVE server production system).

Please note that the primary audience for the above trainings consists of companies obligated under the EUDR to submit due diligence statements into the Information System – specifically operators, traders, their authorized representatives, and relevant associations representing them.

Overview of the Information system and lifecycle of a Due Diligence Statement
The Information System (IS) is the IT system which contains the due diligence statements submitted by operators and traders to comply with the requirements of the Regulation. The Information System is operational and provides users with the functionalities listed in Art. 33(2) of the EUDR. Its functionalities are further set out in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/3084.
The EU Single Window Environment for Customs (EU SWE-C) is a framework that enables interoperability between customs IT systems and non-customs systems, such as the Information System established pursuant to Art. 33 of the Regulation. The central component of EU SWE-C, known as EU CSW-CERTEX system, will interconnect the Information System with national customs IT systems and will enable sharing and processing of data submitted to customs and non-customs authorities by economic operators. The Single Window will thus ensure information sharing in real-time and digital cooperation between customs authorities and competent authorities in charge of enforcing non-customs formalities, including in the field of environmental protection.
The Information System and, subsequently, its interconnection with the EU Single Window Environment for Customs, will be aligned with the relevant and applicable provisions in terms of data protection and cybersecurity safeguards. In line with the Union’s Open Data Policy, the Commission shall provide access to the wider public to the complete anonymised datasets of the Information System in an open format that can be machine-readable and that ensures interoperability, re-use, and accessibility. These datasets will be properly aggregated and anonymised.
What can operators and traders use as an ID number/company registration number for the IS? How should domestic operators/traders, who do not have EORI numbers and may not have VAT numbers, register for the IS?
Operators that import or export relevant commodities and relevant products need to provide their valid Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number issued by an EU Member State or the United Kingdom in respect of Northern Ireland (XI) when registering in TRACES NT. Domestic operators/traders who do not have an EORI number may register through one of the other identifiers supported by TRACES, such as VAT number, National Company Number or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), allowing unique and individual identification of the operator or trader.

Will it be possible to 'store' frequently used data (e.g. an operator/trader’s main suppliers) in the IS, so that it can be easily auto-filled rather than needing to be entered afresh for each new DDS?
The Information System does not include this functionality at the moment. Nevertheless, it will be possible to duplicate due diligence statements that have already been drafted or submitted, thus reducing the time needed to fill a new statement. It will be the responsibility of operators and traders to make the necessary changes in the duplicated statement to ensure compliance. In addition, an ‘import’ button is provided, which will allow economic operators to import the information about the production place from a predefined file (Format GeoJSon).
The Information System acts as the repository of the due diligence statements submitted by operators and traders pursuant to Art. 4(2) and Art. 5(1) EUDR. As such, it does not provide software or tools to identify geolocation coordinates, as it is not a primary tool for mapping coordinates.
The Information System utilises Open Street Map (OSM) as its source for storing geographical information related to various countries involved in the system. However, it is not a comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) tool with advanced features, such as background satellite images.
The system offers functionalities to select, enter, adjust, and visualise geolocation coordinates. While the Information System provides a platform for users to manage their geolocation data, users may wish to verify the accuracy of their geolocation information using other tools and resources, including free online map services.
In accordance with Article 5 of Commission Implementing Regulation 2024/3084, the withdrawal or amendment of a submitted Due Diligence Statement is possible within 72 hours after the due diligence reference number has been made available to the user by the Information System.
Withdrawal or amendment will not be possible if the statement reference number has already been used in a customs declaration, referenced in another statement, if the corresponding product has already been placed or made available on the EU market or exported, or, if the operator or trader was notified about the intention to carry out a check on the statement, for the period of the check.
