The EU Business & Biodiversity Platform is ready to kick off the 2026 New Green Shoots webinar series organised in partnership with UNEP FI, PRI and the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation. Delivered in collaboration with the Future is Fungi Award, the first webinar in this series will explore how fungi underpin key financed sectors such as agriculture, real estate, and infrastructure, and examine emerging investment opportunities across the fungal bioeconomy, from venture capital to green bonds. It will also touch on where fungal health appears in frameworks such as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
The webinar will then outline the policy gaps shaping both risks and first-mover advantages for financial institutions and provide practical guidance for integrating fungal ecosystem indicators into credit risk analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management.
The New Green Shoots webinar series looks at the latest trends in nature finance and is delivered in partnership by United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), the Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation and the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform.
