Invitation for the second workshop on corporate biodiversity measurement in marine environments on 9 September 2025

This year’s EU Business & Biodiversity Platforms thematic report is on “Measuring corporate biodiversity performance in the marine environment”. The intent of this thematic report is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of tools, metrics, and data sources available for marine biodiversity measurement. Based on the stocktaking, the report offers recommendations for further action, solutions for existing gaps and recommendations to tackle challenges. It also highlights opportunities where progress can be made.

The report relies on active engagement of the Platform members and other relevant stakeholders. This active engagement consists of a limited number of interviews with key representatives of blue economy sectors known for their leadership and innovation in this area and two virtual workshops. The first workshop took place on 24 June 2025 and captured relevant insights on tools, metrics and data sources as well as related challenges. The workshop recording can be found here.

We are pleased to invite you to the second workshop on “Measuring corporate biodiversity performance in the marine environment” scheduled for 9 September 2025 from 2:30 PM to 4 PM CEST. This second workshop will present the overview of the existing and emerging tools, the remaining gaps and the recommendations for further action.
